The Nellie Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best, and Orogrande Summit Campground is a glorious campground here. Yeah, come here to Square Lake for a good time. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clearwater River - South Fork; if you want a little side tour, try Calendar Canyon. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains, not enough time. Western Mountain Lodge       is a magnificent spot to get some rest. Stay the night at Wildhorse Lake Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Square Lake; Reed Bar Trail is a good local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Pete Creek while you're here at Square Lake, and there's whitewater on Salmon River - South Fork for all you adrenaline junkies. Square Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; most of the snow falls during January, and July is the month with                  the least moisture. This spot, the Clearwater Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting things. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Pilot Knob Trail, and not far from Square Lake you'll locate Crescent Lake which is a beautiful lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Clearwater Mountains. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Square Lake, and the night is a tad colder of course, generally in the 40's.
