    Soldier Lakes is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. At Soldier Lakes during the summertime months highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Soldier Lakes dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. An average amount of rainfall falls at Soldier Lakes; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest  
   month of the year is July. Yeah, come up here to the Sawtooth Range for a great time. If you came for an overnight stay Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground is a good spot to camp, and get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Marsh Creek.
Be careful coming to the Sawtooth Range, you might not ever want to return home again. This lake is so wonderful. Lola Creek Campground is a great campground nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Bear Valley
 
               Creek Trail. So many enjoyable things to do at Soldier Lakes, so little time. There's perfect hiking along the Prospect Creek Trail, and lakes are such calm locations, why not pop by Helldiver Lake.
Good hiking is available along the Blue Bunch Trail, and a great site for whitewater paddling is Salmon River - Middle Fork. Soldier Lakes is located in the Sawtooth Range. Really nice skiing awaits you at Brundage Mountain; there are other places here than Soldier Lakes, for example Iris Lake.

Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's....
