Do stop by Smokey Lake while you're in this part of Idaho. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a splendid little tour to Frog Creek; on a great day you can take a hike along the Granite Ridge Trail. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Smokey Lake reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with

And that's not all you can do here at Smokey Lake. Camping is available at Clearwater Crossing Campground, and a lake nearby is Kid Lake. So much enjoyable stuff in the Bitterroot Range, just mind-boggling. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Crooked Fork, and if you came for an overnight stay Wendover Campground is a good site to camp. Get | |

your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Clark Fork, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Colgate Licks Nature National Recreation Trail.
Leo Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and you
obtain a glorious sight of Shale Mountain from here. Smokey Lake gets very little rain; June is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is July. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Bitterroot
Range. Irish Basin is a good site here at Smokey Lake, and since you're here you can take a hike along the State Line Trail.
