It's always fun to stop by Smith Lake. Mirror Lake Golf Course is a golf course close to Smith Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Moyie River. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a great place to get some rest, and there's some interesting stuff to observe at Nixon Number One Dam close to Smith Lake. So much cool stuff to do at Smith Lake, so little time. Take a hike on the Rutledge Creek Trail, and Dawson Lake is a great lake nearby.

Dry warm beds await you at Sandpoint Super 8 Motel, and camping at Smith Lake is nice fun, Bonners Ferry Resort is a nice local campground. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Danquist Trail, and there's whitewater on Kootenai
for all you adrenaline junkies. At Smith Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
This lake is so wonderful. Swamps like Deer Lake Swamp are fun to visit; why not camp at Smith Lake Campground while you're here at Smith Lake.
