    If you are in this part of Idaho make sure to pay a visit to Smith Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Cabinet Mountains. During the summertime months at Smith Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows at Smith Lake during the wintertime frequently sink into the 20's. Around Smith Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of November is the wettest with  
   most of the rain, and the driest month is July.
In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kootenai, and the East Fork Boulder Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Smith Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, East Fork Public Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby. So much fun stuff to do here in the Cabinet Mountains, too glorious to be true. If you need

What a location this is for outdoors people. There are other places here than Smith Lake, for example Gem Lake, and some of the water nearby flows, like Caribou Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SANDPOINT NORTH, and there's great hiking along the Timber Mountain Trail. All year is a pleasant time in the Cabinet Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Yaak River. Lakes? Sure, Lake Estelle is around here.
Smith Mountain is simple to spot from Smith Lake; don't leave Smith Lake without first going for a hike along the North Fork Trail.
