This lake is located in the wonderful Cabinet Mountains. During the summertime months at Smith Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows at Smith Lake during the wintertime frequently sink into the 20's. Around Smith Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of November is the wettest with       most of the rain, and the driest month is July. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kootenai, and the East Fork Boulder Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Smith Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, East Fork Public Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby.
