If you are in Elmore county it's always a good idea to stop by Slide Lake. Just can't get enough of the Sawtooth Range. That right there is heaps already, but it keeps on going; Slide Lake has it all. Don't leave Slide Lake without first going for a hike along the Black Warrior Creek Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Slide Lake; Hot Springs Creek Trail is a good local trail. | | month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; July is the month with the least moisture.
This lake is so wonderful. Visiting Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; Powerplant Campground is a perfect campground here. Throughout the summer months highs here at Slide Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through | |

the dark hours in the winter at Slide Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Whitewater paddling is good on Salmon River, and you can stay the night at Queens River Campground.
Slide Lake is located in the Sawtooth Range. Good
hiking is available along the Yuba River Trail, and you're probably addicted to lakes, Arrowhead Lake is one of those close by. And that's not everything you can do here in the Sawtooth Range. Blacknose Mountain is lovely and can be observed from Slide Lake, and The Hole is reasonably close.
