Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Skyland Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll locate a pretty lake called Mallard Lake near Skyland Lake. Martin Peak is relatively in close proximity to Skyland Lake, and the Shin Point Trail offers hiking at its best. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff       to do in the Bitterroot Range. There's fine hiking along the Dead Mule Trail, and camping at Aquarius Campground is always a tremendous experience. Camping is available at Mammouth Springs Campground; a perfect nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - St. Regis. Skyland Lake is a beautiful lake in the Bitterroot Range. An average amount of rain falls at Skyland Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; the driest month of the year is                  July. Having a perfect time at Skyland Lake is easy. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Old Montana Trail, and let's not forget Falls Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Mallard Peak can be distinguished from Skyland Lake; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend St. Joe River. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Bitterroot Range.
