The beauty of Skookum Lake is reason enough to stop by. Skookum Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Lolo-Days Inn Missoula South/Blue Mountain is a nice choice; Skookum Lake is right by the Lee Ridge Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing things the Bitterroot Range has to offer. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sally Ridge Trail. much cool stuff in one place! The Bitterroot Range is unbeatable! Fort Lolo Hot Springs is a fine campground nearby, and hiking along the Mill Creek Trail is brilliant fun. Throughout the summertime months at Skookum Lake temperatures
are regularly in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Skookum Lake are in the 10's.

Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore.
