The beauty of Skookum Lake attracts many people from all around. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Brushy Fork; going for a hike on the Lee Ridge Trail is always a pleasant adventure. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Bitterroot Range, too pleasant to be true. Camping is available at Fort Lolo Hot Springs, and close by you stumble on the Sally Ridge Trail which is a fine hiking trail. Yep, outdoors exciting

This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. The yearly rain here at Skookum Lake is about average; January is the month that gets the most snow; the driest month of the year is July. Throughout the long summer days at Skookum Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the
30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Skookum Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the brilliant whitewater of White Sand Creek, and Elk Meadows is a magnificent place.
