This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Water's Edge RV Resort is a fine place to camp, and if you're here, you could also have a look at picturesque Willow Creek Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Campbell Creek Trail; if you're here at Skein Lake it's a delightful idea to explore Stewarts Meadow.       Paddling on Payette River - North Fork is so much fun, and don't leave Skein Lake without first going for a hike along the Willow Creek Trail. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Skein Lake; Campbell Trail is a nice local trail; splendid water scenery is available at Skein Lake Dam close to Skein Lake. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty                  more amusing stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Why not camp at Lake Cascade State Park if you're here at Skein Lake; Raft Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. Skein Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; most of the snow falls throughout January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Payette River - North Fork in a kayak, and after a long day outdoors Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a great spot to spend a night or two. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Skein Lake. The sight of Collier Peak from Skein Lake is scenic; Ashley Inn is a great place to get some rest. All through the summertime months at Skein Lake highs are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's.
