Lakes are good; Pollywog Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Ship Island Lake, and do take a hike on the Ship Island Trail. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. Ship Island Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Papoose Creek Campground is a great local campground; whitewater paddling is nice on Monumental Creek. At Ship Island       Lake you don’t see much rain; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. One of the main characteristics of the surroundings of Ship Island Lake is Aggipah Mountain. There's so much to do here at Ship Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Parrot Placer Campground is a delightful place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the South Fork Trail is delightful                  fun, and if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Camas Creek. And if that's not enough there's heaps more fun stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Have a nice hiking adventure along the Waterfall Trail; naturally, this is a delightful region for folks who like lakes, Parrot Lake is a lake close at hand. High temperatures at Ship Island Lake through the long summer days are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
