At Ship Island Lake you can make out Aggipah Mountain, and a pleasant spot for whitewater paddling is Camas Creek. Ship Island Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. Ship Island Lake is pretty dry typically; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. For the duration of the summertime here at Ship Island Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's.       For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Ship Island Lake. Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more fun things to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. If you get bored of Ship Island Lake, you could also take a look at nearby Airplane Lake, and there are nice sites to explore along the Waterfall Trail. This lake is so wonderful.                  If you came for an overnight stay Parrot Placer Campground is a great location to camp, and going for a hike on the South Fork Trail is always a delightful adventure. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Ship Island Lake. Monumental Creek is a delightful whitewater spot near Ship Island Lake.
