Shining Lake is a location that is relatively dry typically; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. The Nellie Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; obviously Butcher Creek is a delightful stream that is worth taking a look at. So       many exciting things in the Clearwater Mountains, just striking. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Pilot Knob Trail; a glorious site for whitewater paddling is Clearwater River - South Fork. For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Shining Lake reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's.
