Best Western Edgewater Resort is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. Pack River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by, and Shepherd Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Travel America Plaza is a
great spot to camp nearby.
There is a magnificent hiking trail near Shepherd Lake called the White Mountain Trail, and why not head up to Schweitzer and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at
Shepherd Lake you can take a hike along the Leiberg-Athol Trail. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Shepherd Lake; the wettest month of the year is generally December, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest of the months is July.
