The amount of rainfall that falls at Shepherd Lake is close to the national average; throughout the month of December you get the most snow around here, and the driest month of the year is July. Very striking scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Schweitzer, and if you need a site to stay Inn At Sand Creek is a brilliant choice. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Edgewater Resort. This lake is so wonderful.       If you're popping by Shepherd Lake from Coeur d'Alene, you won't be the only one, and if you came to camp Wheel People RV Park is a nice location to do that. Camping at Travel America Plaza is always a nice experience, and you can make out Reed Hill from Shepherd Lake. Go for a hike on the Green Mountain Trail; Mirror Lake is a great lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. There's splendid hiking along the White Mountain Trail; paddling on Pack River                  is so much fun. What a location this is for outdoors people. Don't leave Shepherd Lake without first going for a hike along the Leiberg-Athol Trail, and Pack River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not take a look at Heath Lake right next door to Shepherd Lake, and some nearby water includes Fry Creek. High temperatures at Shepherd Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's.
