Sheepeater Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. Around Sheepeater Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is usually the driest month. Sheepeater Lake is in a glorious location in the shadow of the Bighorn Crags, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Ship Island Trail. Life's too short to enjoy       all the fun things in the Salmon River Mountains. Crags Campground is a pleasant campground nearby; the Waterfall Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. If you came for an overnight stay Yellowjacket Campground is a great site to camp; paddling on Camas Creek is so much fun. But wait, there's more to do near Sheepeater Lake. There are other locations here than Sheepeater Lake, for example Terrace Lakes, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the South                  Fork Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Airplane Lake is in close proximity, and from Sheepeater Lake you acquire a brilliant sight of Bighorn Crags. So much fun stuff in the Salmon River Mountains, just fantastic.
