This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Ontario Super 8 Motel is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; Wildhorse River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. Interesting geology is available here; Devils Slide is next to Rush Lake; a lake close by is Hornet Reservoir. There's so much to do here at Rush Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Frontier Motel and RV Park is a great       place for that, and do stop at Hornet Creek-Upper Dam while you're here. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Wallowa Mountains. Stay the night at Lafferty Campground; Rush Lake is not the only location nearby, Lower Hornet Reservoir is a nearby lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Rush Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime                  lows in the 10's for Rush Lake. At Rush Lake you don’t see much precipitation; most of the snow falls through December, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wallowa Mountains.
