The amount of rainfall that falls at Round Lake is close to the national average; most of the snow falls all through January, and the driest month is July. There's so much to do here at Round Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wildhorse Lake Campground is a glorious place for that; in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Deer Lake is just a very short distance away.       A brilliant close by hotel is SUPER 8 MOTEL - GRANGEVILLE, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Reed Bar Trail. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Round Lake. On a brilliant day at Round Lake you can take a hike along the Nellie Mountain Trail, and a magnificent site for whitewater paddling is Salmon River - South Fork. High temperatures at Round Lake through the warm days of summer are in                  the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Round Lake descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Interesting geology is available here; Drumlummen Point is in close proximity to Round Lake. That right there is loads of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Clearwater Mountains has it all. If you came to camp Orogrande Summit Campground is a great site to do that, and the Pilot Knob Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Clearwater Mountains. A glorious vista of beautiful Oregon Butte is available from Round Lake, obviously you could also explore Oregon Butte Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful.
