If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Salmon River Mountains. This is a pleasant area for folks who like lakes. Pole Lake is a lake close at hand, and you can run the rapids of Loon Creek. So much enjoyable stuff near Rock Lakes, truly tremendous. Stay the night at Rock Creek Campground; the South Fork Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater       of Camas Creek; Rock Lakes is right by the Waterfall Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. Summertime at Rock Lakes arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 30's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Rock Lakes. Rock Lakes is pretty dehydrated typically; most of the snow falls throughout December; July is when it's the driest. The view                  of Sleeping Deer Mountain from Rock Lakes is picturesque; hiking along the Waterfall Trail is glorious fun. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Salmon River Mountains.
