Rock Lake is a nice lake to visit. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Salmon River Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork. At Rock Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 30's. Highs all through the winter are generally in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures

good enough to spend more than a day at, Golden Gate Campground is a good local campground; get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Johnson Creek. Be careful coming to Rock Lake, you might not ever wanna return back
home again. Why not take a refreshing hike along the South Fork Sheep Creek Trail, and if you need a place to stay Prospector Lodge & Cabins is a nice choice.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t
go skiing at Brundage Mountain while you're here, and do take a hike on the Indian Ridge Trail. Rock Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Rock Lake is a good spot of typical rain; most of the snow falls through January, and the driest month of the year is July.
