Rice Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Around Rice Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically January, that's the one that snows the most; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Johnson Creek; why not take a refreshing hike

If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Salmon River Mountains. You get a great panorama of Rice Peak from Rice Lake, and there's glorious hiking along the Bull Creek Trail. But wait, there's more to do close to Rice Lake. at Rice Lake is tremendous fun, Fir Springs Campground is a tremendous local campground; a day on the slopes of Brundage Mountain is just what you need. During the months of summer highs here at Rice Lake get into the 90's. When the
night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Rice Lake.
