This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Camas Creek. There's so much to do here at Ramshorn Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Crags Campground is a great site for that. Through the days of summer here at Ramshorn Lake, high temperatures generally       get into the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Ramshorn Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. At Ramshorn Lake you can observe Puddin Mountain; hiking along the South Fork Trail is glorious fun. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Ramshorn Lake                  has to offer, you can camp at Yellowjacket Campground, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Waterfall Trail. Ramshorn Lake is a location that is pretty arid frequently; June is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not pop by South Fork Lake in the neighborhood of Ramshorn Lake; going for a hike along the Ship Island Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Yeah, come up here to the Salmon River Mountains for a great time.
