     The beauty of Ramshorn Lake attracts many people from all around. If you came to camp Crags Campground is a magnificent place to do that; at Ramshorn Lake you can catch a glimpse of Puddin Mountain. All through the warm days of summer here at Ramshorn Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's with night lows in the 40's. During the winter the highs are generally in the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Ramshorn Lake temperatures dip to  
   the 0's. Man, is there loads of entertaining stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. There's so much to do here at Ramshorn Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Yellowjacket Campground is a great place for that, and you can run the rapids of Camas Creek.
So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Salmon River Mountains, too tremendous to be true. Near Ramshorn Lake you discover the Ship Island Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and
 
               obviously, this is a glorious neighborhood for people who like lakes, Tip Top Lake is a lake close at hand. At Ramshorn Lake you don’t see much rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most while February is commonly the driest month.
Ramshorn Lake is one of the lakes here in the Salmon River Mountains. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. There is a perfect hiking trail near Ramshorn Lake called the South Fork Trail, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Monumental Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Waterfall Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Lakes are delightful; Alpine Lake is a lake that's close to Ramshorn Lake.
