This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Redfish Lake Lodge is a glorious choice, and while you're here, you could go to South Fork Champion Creek. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Rainbow Lake. A great nearby hotel is Stanley High Country Inn; what would winter be without some skiing at Sun Valley. Around Rainbow Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the       month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is usually the driest month. Smoky Bear Campground is a great campground here, and there are some great whitewater spots on Salmon River. Going for a hike along the Bull Moose Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Rainbow Lake is a good location to camp, Alturas Inlet Campground is a good location. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Yellow Belly                  Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Soldier Mountain Ski Resort if you're here. Summer at Rainbow Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's.
