Through the warmest time of the year at Rainbow Lake highs are mostly in the 70's, and the overnight is somewhat colder of course, usually in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Rainbow Lake. Hiking along the Yellow Belly Trail is magnificent fun. Visit South Fork Champion Creek if you're here at Rainbow Lake, and if you came for       an overnight stay Smoky Bear Campground is a great place to camp. Any time is a great time at Rainbow Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Get your pulse rate up on the nice whitewater of Salmon River, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Bull Moose Trail. You're in all probability into lakes, Heart Lake is one of those nearby; hey, Gotta ski right? Soldier Mountain Ski Resort is a wonderful place to do that. Looking for something                  close to Rainbow Lake? Champion Lakes is in close proximity, and everyone close by loves skiing at Sun Valley. Not much rain falls here at Rainbow Lake; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow while July is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
