The beauty of Queen Lake attracts many people from all around. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Kootenai; great hiking is available along the Sidehill Trail. Summertime highs at Queen Lake generally tend to be in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Queen Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. Log Inn of

| | Bonners Ferry is a good spot to get some rest, and if you get bored of Queen Lake you could also take a look at nearby Bussard Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; obviously Bussard Creek is a scenic stream that is worth stopping at. Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Robinson Lake Campground is a great spot to camp. Meadow Creek Campground is a fine campground here, and one of the principal marks of the surroundings of Queen Lake is Queen Mountain.
There are great places to explore along the Rutledge Creek Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Moyie River. Queen Lake gets very little precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here, and July on the other hand is the driest.
