If you are in Valley county it's always a good idea to stop by Profile Lake. That right there is a load of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all. Going for a hike along the Parks Peak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Johnson Creek. Profile Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; most of the snow falls through January while July is usually the driest month.

Profile Lake is one of the lakes here in the Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. The Caton Lake Trail is a glorious hiking trail close to Profile Lake, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby
Brundage Mountain. If you need a place to stay Prospector Lodge & Cabins is a great choice, and Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby.
