Bighorn Crags is a peak you can see from Pothole Lake; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Waterfall Trail. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Panther Creek, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Ship Island Trail. The Clear Creek Trail is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Pothole Lake;                  camping at Yellowjacket Campground is always a splendid experience. Pothole Lake is one of the lakes here in the Salmon River Mountains. The neighborhood where Pothole Lake is, is dominated by the Bighorn Crags; if you came to camp Crags Campground is a perfect spot to do that. Pothole Lake is commonly a pretty dried out place; all through June this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Having a splendid time in the Salmon River Mountains is easy.
