    A visit to Porcupine Lake is always a good idea. On a wonderful day at Porcupine Lake you can take a hike along the Shertz Trail; whitewater paddling is brilliant on Couer d'Alene River - Big North Fork. It is very arid here at Porcupine Lake typically; during November this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is July. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Bitterroot Range. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Porcupine Lake has  
   to offer, you can camp at Lightning Creek Trailer Park; if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pack River.
Porcupine Lake is one of the lakes here in the Bitterroot Range. The North Fork Trail is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Porcupine Lake, and you can stay the night at Porcupine Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is wonderful here at Porcupine Lake, you can go for a
 
               hike along the Alpine Trail, and Becker Draw is also a great place to look at.
Summertime highs at Porcupine Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Porcupine Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Porcupine Lake is excellent! After a long day outdoors Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a nice place to spend a night or two.
