    Why not stop by Porcupine Lake if you're passing through these parts. There are some great whitewater spots on Couer d'Alene River - Big North Fork, and you can stay the night at Lightning Creek Trailer Park. Porcupine Lake is a location that is reasonably arid ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest of the months is July. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Alpine Trail; Porcupine
 
   Lake is a delightful location to visit for more than one day, Porcupine Lake Campground is a delightful location to camp nearby. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more enjoyable stuff to do in the Bitterroot Range. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the North Fork Trail, and a great place to visit is Becker Draw. At Porcupine Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.  
               For the duration of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Porcupine Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Shertz Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Pack River. What a location this is for outdoors folks. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino.
