It's always fun to stop by Pony Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Deadwater Campground is a glorious local campground; the Brushy Gulch Trail offers hiking at its best. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. North Fork Store is a great campground nearby; there's pleasant hiking along the Daly Creek Trail. Through the summertime highs here at Pony Lake reach the 80's, and the night is rather cooler of course, typically in the 40's. The wintertime

| | brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Pony Lake.
Around Pony Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; throughout June this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Glide down the rapids of Panther Creek in a kayak. Some of the water close by flows, like Arnett Creek, and don't leave Pony Lake without first going for a hike along the Hornet Creek Trail.
