Pony Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls through June, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. Be careful coming to Pony Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. You can run the rapids of Panther Creek next to Pony Lake. Throughout the summer months at Pony Lake highs are commonly in the 80's.       When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows through the winter for Pony Lake tend to be in the 0's. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Pony Lake; Daly Creek Trail is a pleasant local trail, and you can stay the night at Deadwater Campground. All the outdoors exciting things in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Arnett Creek is a tremendous spot                  to check out, and if you've had enough of Pony Lake, U P Lake is nearby. The Brushy Gulch Trail offers hiking at its best. There's so much to do here at Pony Lake that you need to camp here for a while, North Fork Store is a nice place for that. This lake is so wonderful.
