The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to The Ponds, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at The Ponds temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The Ponds is good enough       to spend more than a day at, Mill Canyon Campground is a good local campground, and if you need a place to stay Riverside Hot Springs Inn is a fine choice. While you're here at The Ponds, you could also visit pretty Cranes Reservoir, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Montpelier. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Oregon Trail - Lander Cutoff; Big Basin is a good location to check out. There's                  so much to do here at The Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Summit View Campground is a tremendous location for that; hiking along the Dry Valley Trail is delightful fun.
