During the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Poison Lake; the night is somewhat chillier of course, typically in the 40's. All through the winter the highs are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Poison Lake. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. After a long day outdoors Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a       delightful spot to spend a night or two, and Amanita Campground is a good campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You'll discover a scenic lake called Rock Lake near Poison Lake. Lone Tree is clearly visible from Poison Lake; Poison Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Poison Creek Campground is a great site to camp nearby. Poison Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Just can't get enough of Poison Lake. If you come at the                  right time of year, Payette River - North Fork offers some fine whitewater; Poison Lake is right by the Jungle Creek Trail. And if that's not enough there's plenty more fun things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Arling Trail, and a great close by hotel is Ashley Inn. Poison Lake is pretty waterless frequently; the wettest month of the year is regularly December, that's the one that snows the most while July is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Do pop by Cruzen Pond close to Poison Lake, it's a gorgeous lake; hiking along the Anderson Creek Trail is tremendous fun.
