Throughout the warmest time of the year at Plateau Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Plateau Lake. While you're here at Plateau Lake you can take a hike along the South Fork Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Camas Creek. On a tremendous       day at Plateau Lake you can take a hike along the Waterfall Trail, and why not camp at Yellowjacket Campground if you're here at Plateau Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail right next door to Plateau Lake called the Ship Island Trail, and Puddin Mountain is charming and can be made out from here. Plateau Lake is regularly a reasonably arid spot; during June this area sees the most rain; February is when it's the driest. This lake                  is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Plateau Lake. There are some good whitewater spots on Monumental Creek. Having a tremendous time in the Salmon River Mountains is easy.
