What a nice lake Pistol Lake is. So much amusing stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains, not enough time. Why not camp at Pen Basin Campground since you're here at Pistol Lake; after a long day outdoors Ashley Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Johnson Creek, and a glorious place to camp here at Pistol Lake is Twin Bridges Campground. Pistol

There's no way anyone
can get bored here in the Salmon River Mountains. Pistol Lake is right by the Buck Creek Trail. The slopes of Brundage Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Pistol Lake; McClure Trail
is a glorious local trail. At Pistol Lake you can observe Lake Mountain; if you get bored of Pistol Lake you could also take a look at nearby Chilcoot Lake.
