Pistol Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. A tremendous sight of striking Lake Mountain is available from Pistol Lake; not far from Pistol Lake you'll discover Black Lake which is a charming lake. Through the months of summer here at Pistol Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's, and the night is a little cooler of course, mostly in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the       30's while the cold winter nights at Pistol Lake are in the 0's. So many cool things to do here in the Salmon River Mountains, too good to be true. The slopes of Brundage Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist; Johnson Creek is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Man, is there a load of entertaining things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling                  on Johnson Creek; Pistol Lake is right by the McClure Trail. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Why not camp at Pen Basin Campground since you're here at Pistol Lake, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Buck Creek Trail. Pistol Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that snows the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Ashley Inn, and a brilliant site to camp here at Pistol Lake is Twin Bridges Campground.
