So much exciting stuff in the Sawtooth Range, just amazing. Head up to Soldier Mountain Ski Resort and strap some skis to your feet, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Yellow Belly Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Smoky Bear Campground if you're here at Pettit Lake, and there's whitewater on Salmon River for all you adrenaline kick people. If you came for an overnight       stay Alturas Inlet Campground is a pleasant location to camp, and Pettit Lake Fish Barrier Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawtooth Range. Just can't get enough of Pettit Lake. Lakes? Sure, McDonald Lake is in close proximity, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Bull Moose Trail. Through the warm days of summer here at Pettit Lake, high temperatures frequently reach                  the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's while Pettit Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's.
