Payette Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Buck Park Cabin - Payette National Forest is a nice local campground, and a round of golf at nearby City of McCall Golf Course is a pleasant way to kill some time. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Payette River - North Fork, and after a long day outdoors Whitetail Club and Resort is a splendid spot to spend a night or two. Around Payette Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; throughout December this area sees the most snow, and the driest month of the year is July. At Payette Lake through the warm months highs are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Payette Lake dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Hait Reservoir is near Payette Lake, and if you want to hit the beach, Sylvan Beach is nearby. There is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Payette Lake called the Louie Lake Trail.
