Lakes are great; Alpine Lake is a lake that's right next door to Paragon Lake; do take a hike on the Ship Island Trail. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Salmon River Mountains. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Salmon River Mountains. The top of Puddin Mountain is easily seen from Paragon Lake, and if you came       for an overnight stay Rattlesnake Creek Campground is a glorious spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Waterfall Trail, and a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Camas Creek. Camping is available at Yellowjacket Campground; if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Monumental Creek. Paragon Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. Just can't get enough                  of Paragon Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Paragon Lake; South Fork Trail is a good local trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Ramshorn Lake. Throughout the summertime at Paragon Lake highs are usually in the 80's; the overnight is a tad cooler of course, ordinarily in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Paragon Lake.
