    Many people like to go to Papoose Lakes. You truly should go for the Salmon River Mountains. Get your pulse rate up on the brilliant whitewater of Bear Valley Creek, and a lake nearby is Buck Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. There's whitewater on Rapid River for all you thrill seekers, and there's perfect hiking along the Big Baldy Ridge Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Papoose Lakes without first going
 
   for a hike along the Mule Hill Trail. There's so much to do here at Papoose Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Boy Scout Camp Campground is a good place for that. High temperatures at Papoose Lakes through the summertime months are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; overnight lows in the 0's for Papoose Lakes. If only every location had this much outdoors  
               fun things, what a great earth it would be. Gotta ski! Brundage Mountain is a good place to do that.
The Big Chief Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you came to camp Pistol Creek Campground is a fine location to do that. Papoose Lakes gets a normal amount of rain; the month with most of the snow is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
