Papoose Lake is always a pleasure to visit. And if that's not enough there's a heap more enjoyable things to do in the Wallowa Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Papoose Lake; Deep Creek Trail is a nice local trail, and if you came to camp Windy Saddle Campground is a wonderful place to do that. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Wallowa Mountains. Barton Spring is a delightful local attraction,

| | and Papoose Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Seven Devils Campground is a perfect local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Little Salmon River is a great whitewater spot near Papoose Lake; if you need a place to stay Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a pleasant choice. Heavens Gate Trail. For the period of the summertime months at Papoose Lake temperatures are regularly in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows through
the wintertime for Papoose Lake tend to be in the 20's. A spree to The Narrows is always fun; the peak of Bald Mountain can be seen from Papoose Lake. Papoose Lake is located in the Wallowa Mountains. A nice place for whitewater
paddling near Papoose Lake is Snake River, and there's splendid hiking along the Old Boise Trail. Papoose Lake is a location that is quite dried up usually; most of the rain falls during May while July is frequently the driest
month. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Seven Devils Lake, and not far from Papoose Lake you'll stumble on Crater Lake which is a charming lake.
