Old Man Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Race Track Campground is a good location to camp nearby, and Lochsa River is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. Old Man Lake is located in the Clearwater Mountains. The panorama of Chimney Peak from Old Man Lake is scenic, and if you've had enough of Old Man Lake, Wood Lake is nearby. Through the summertime months here at Old Man Lake, high temperatures generally       get into the 80's; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 30's while Old Man Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. All the outdoors amusing things in the vicinity of Old Man Lake will keep you coming back over and over. You can run the rapids of Lochsa River next to Old Man Lake; going for a hike on the Meadow Creek National Recreation Trail is always                  a pleasant adventure. The annual precipitation here at Old Man Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that snows the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Clearwater Mountains, too splendid to be true. Race Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground; Old Man Lake is not the only site close by, Kettle Lake is a close by lake. All year is a pleasant time in the Clearwater Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Go for a hike on the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail.
