This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Wood Lake; Old Man Meadows is a glorious place to stretch your legs a bit. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Glide down the rapids of Lochsa River in a kayak, and the summit of Chimney Peak can be observed from Old Man Lake. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Old Man Lake; through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest of       the months is July. Summertime highs at Old Man Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Old Man Lake temperatures drop to the 20's. Old Man Lake is a beautiful lake in the Clearwater Mountains. That right there is plenty of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Clearwater Mountains has it                  all. There's so much to do here at Old Man Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Race Track Campground is a great spot for that, and on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail. Get drenched paddling on Lochsa River, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Meadow Creek National Recreation Trail. Kettle Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at; if you're here you can take a hike along the East Boyd Glover Roundtop National Recreation Trail. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Clearwater Mountains.
