    A visit to Norton Lake is always a good idea. All through the summer at Norton Lake highs are commonly in the 70's; the overnight is quite chillier of course, mostly in the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Norton Lake. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Norton Lake. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Salmon River Mountains. Redfish Lake Lodge is a brilliant  
   place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Norton Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rock Island Campground is a good location for that.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Loon Creek, and don't leave Norton Lake without first going for a hike along the Shellrock Ridge Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Norton Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the snow is
 
               January, and the driest of the months is July. Norton Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains.
There's tremendous hiking along the Bear Trap Saddle Trail, and the Cliff Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Salmon River - Middle Fork. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Norton Lake has to offer, you can camp at Whitey Cox Campground.
