Norton Lake is one of the lakes here in the Salmon River Mountains. An average amount of rainfall falls at Norton Lake; during the month of January you get the most snow around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Hiking along the Shellrock Ridge Trail is good fun, and paddling on Loon Creek is so much fun. Lakes are such serene places, why not stop at Blue       Lake near Norton Lake; going for a hike along the Bear Trap Saddle Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Norton Lake. While you're here at Norton Lake you can take a hike along the Cliff Creek Trail. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. Falconberry Lake is a perfect lake near Norton Lake; if you came for an overnight                  stay Rock Island Campground is a tremendous place to camp. Through the summer months highs here at Norton Lake get into the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Norton Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
