A pleasant place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Neilsen Reservoir is Camas Creek, and the slopes of Soldier Mountain Ski Resort are so inviting nobody can resist. High temperatures at Neilsen Reservoir during the months of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures       at Neilsen Reservoir dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Wood River, and Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is a pleasant national park. Camping at Iron Mountain Inn is always a nice experience, and Hash Spring is an inspiring place to take a look at while you're here. Spring Creek flows through this neighborhood, and a good place to camp here at Neilsen                  Reservoir is Carrie Creek Campground. Not much precipitation falls here at Neilsen Reservoir; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
