     Mud Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Having a great time in the Salmon River Mountains is uncomplicated. Through the long summer days here at Mud Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Mud Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Mud Lake. If you  
   came to camp Buck Mountain Campground is a glorious place to do that. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pen Basin Campground is a great place for that.
From a precipitation point of view Mud Lake is a quite typical spot; all through January this area sees the most snow; July on the other hand is the driest. Mud Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. North Fork Sand Creek is one of the streams
 
               nearby that might be worth stopping at, and don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Rock Creek Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Johnson Creek, and you can go for a hike on the McClure Trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Salmon River Mountains has to offer. If you need a place to stay Ashley Inn is a splendid choice, and splendid hiking is available along the Burnt Log Trail. Hit the slopes at Brundage Mountain close by, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Johnson Creek.
