Do stop by Mud Lake while you're in this part of Idaho. Yeah, come up here to the Bitterroot Range for a nice time. You could also stop at Gnat Lake while you're here at Mud Lake; it's nearby, and there are great spots to explore along the Shin Point Trail. At Mud Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 20's

If you come at the right time of year, St. Joe River - Skookum Canyon offers some great whitewater, and everyone nearby loves skiing at Lookout Pass. do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Aquarius Campground is a great spot for that, and nearby you come across the Dead Mule Trail which is a great hiking trail. Mud Lake is located in the Bitterroot Range.
All the outdoors exciting things in the Bitterroot Range will keep you coming back over and over. The peak of Crag Peak can be distinguished from Mud Lake, and a lake nearby is Larkins Lake. Mud Lake gets a common amount of annual
precipitation; most of the snow falls through January, and the driest month is July. Old Man Creek flows through this vicinity; going for a hike on the Old Montana Trail is always a delightful adventure.
