This lake is so wonderful. Green Flat Campground is a brilliant local campground; Old Man Meadows is a pleasant spot to check out. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Clearwater Mountains. There is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Mud Lake called the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains. The Meadow Creek National Recreation Trail is a magnificent       hiking trail in the vicinity of Mud Lake; at Mud Lake you can make out Stanley Butte. Summertime highs at Mud Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and the overnight is fairly colder of course, commonly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 30's, and night lows at Mud Lake through the winter usually fall into the 20's. This lake is located in the wonderful Clearwater Mountains. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Mud                  Lake; January is the month that gets the most snow; the driest month of the year is July. Race Creek Campground is a great campground nearby, and Lochsa River is a great whitewater spot nearby. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Mud Lake. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not explore Seven Lakes in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the East Boyd Glover Roundtop National Recreation Trail.
