Moose Lake is a location that is reasonably dried out frequently; November is the wettest month with most rain while July is mostly the driest month. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Cabinet Mountains. Moose Lake is not the only place close by, Lake Estelle is a close by lake, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a great choice. So many exciting       things to do in the Cabinet Mountains, not enough time. The top of Benning Mountain is easily seen from Moose Lake, and you can run the rapids of Kootenai. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the area next to Moose Lake has to offer. Yaak River is a magnificent whitewater spot close to Moose Lake, and Alpine Creek is close to Moose Lake and is always a bliss to stop by. There are good sites to explore along the North Fork Trail, and                  Moose Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, East Fork Public Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Alpine Trail, and a splendid place to camp here at Moose Lake is Porcupine Lake Campground. Looking for something close to Moose Lake? Blacktail Lake is close by, and wonderful hiking is available along the East Fork Boulder Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Moose Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Moose Lake.
