So many fun things to do in the Salmon River Mountains, not enough time. Milk Lake is not the only location close by, Challis Creek Lakes is a close by lake, and there are some great whitewater spots on Salmon River - Yankee Fork. Summertime at Milk Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally       in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Milk Lake are in the-10's. After a long day outdoors SnowRun by ResortQuest is a great place to spend a night or two. Milk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River, and why not camp at Eightmile Campground since you're here at Milk Lake. Milk Lake is commonly a relatively dehydrated site; most of the snow falls                  through December, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful.
