In Idaho there are many beautiful lakes, Midnight Lake is one of them. Not far from Midnight Lake, you'll find Little Valley Reservoir which is a beautiful lake, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the High Line Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are other locations here than Midnight Lake, for example Worm Lake, and you can stay the night at Porcupine Campground. Midnight Lake is one of the lakes here in the Wasatch Range.

meet some folks from Logan for sure; Cloverleaf Campground is a perfect campground nearby. Midnight Lake is pretty dehydrated generally; June is when you get the most rain here; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so
wonderful. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Bear River, and nearby you discover the Midland Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.
High temperatures at Midnight Lake all through the months of summer are in the 80's. Throughout
the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Midnight Lake fall into the 10's. This location is excellent, just
look at all the enjoyable stuff to do in the neighborhood of Midnight Lake. A visit to Green Basin revives the spirit, and while you're here why not explore Green Pass.

Bloomington Lake Trail
 | ...ke Trail and Bloomington Lake is up Bloomington Canyon on the West Side of the Bear Lake Valley. The canyon road is accessed off of Highway 89 in the community of Bloomington. It is approximately 11 miles to the top of the canyon and parking area. The road is dirt and gravel and suitable for most passenger cars. It is a short trail to the lake where you will be rewarded with a beautiful high mountain lake with high surrounding cliffs.
There are many trails the lead off from the canyon and connect to other surrounding canyons. One of the more notable trails is the Highline Trail. This is an approximate 60 mile trail that runs north and south along the ridge line of the mountains. The trail can be accessed at many point including the top of Bloomington Canyon. At the parking area the road continues a bit futher west and the road turns into a trail that leads up to the ridge. Bear River

We floated the Wayland Hot Springs to the Weston Bridge. You cannot put in downriver from the Highway 91 bridge anymore. However you can cross the highway and park and put in at the Riverside RV and trailer park. They have a boat ramp and a great place to camp. About a half mile above Squaw Hotsprings, a fence has been hung across the river, watch out that you don't snag your head, duck! After that there really is no obstructions until you get to the diverson about 2 miles above the Weston Bridge. Run this right down the middle.
This is a great family float and a nice flat part of the river for beginners.... |
Limber Pine Trail

The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road.... |
