This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. There's so much to do here at Middle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Yellow Pine Campground is a pleasant place for that, and if you get bored of Middle Lake you could also check out close by Crater Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Crater Peak can be spotted from Middle Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Indian Creek       Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Middle Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Middle Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Profile Gap is a great place to spend some time at; you can run the rapids of Johnson Creek. That right there is heaps of enjoyable stuff already but it goes                  on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all. Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork, and Middle Lake is not the only site nearby, Fish Lake is a nearby lake. If you came to camp Golden Gate Campground is a tremendous site to do that, and the Big Chief Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. If you need a location to stay Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a good choice, and why not take a little spree to Ellison Creek while you're here. The annual rain here at Middle Lake is about average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. But wait, there's more to do close to Middle Lake.
