If you need a place to stay Crystal Inn Logan is a great choice; there are good places to explore along the Limber Pine Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Merkley Lake has to offer, you can camp at Montpelier Creek KOA; a good spot close by is First Hollow. Summertime at Merkley Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. High temperatures through       the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows at Merkley Lake throughout the winter mostly descend into the 0's. It is very dried out here at Merkley Lake usually; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. There's so much to do here at Merkley Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bear Lake State Park is a delightful site for that. This lake is so wonderful.
