K O A Kampgrounds is a delightful local campground, and going for a hike along the Limber Pine Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Merkley Lake is pretty dried up typically; the month of May  
   is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July.
Throughout the months of summer highs here at Merkley Lake get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Merkley Lake. SUPER 8 MOTEL - MONTPELIER is a delightful spot to get some rest; while you're here, you might as well have a look at First Hollow.
 
               This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Dry warm beds await you at Crystal Inn Logan.
This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Midland Trail.

The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road....
