For the period of the months of summer at McGown Lakes temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for McGown Lakes tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The view of McGown Peak from McGown Lakes is beautiful, and why not camp at Lake View Campground while you're here       at McGown Lakes. A lake nearby is Alpine Lake, and the Bull Moose Trail offers hiking at its best. McGown Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Sawtooth Range. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun things to do in the Sawtooth Range. A great spot to camp here at McGown Lakes is Inlet Campground; McGown Lakes is right by the Bear Valley Creek Trail. Salmon River is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of McGown Lakes, and do take a hike on the                  Yellow Belly Trail. McGown Lakes is a good spot of normal rain; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month is July. All the outdoors enjoyable things next to McGown Lakes will keep you coming back time and again.
