    If you are in Valley county it's always a good idea to stop by Marion Lake. The Caton Lake Trail is a perfect hiking trail close to Marion Lake, and Brundage Mountain is a very popular ski area in close proximity. Marion Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Going for a hike on the Parks Peak Trail is always a glorious adventure. There's so much to do here at Marion Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Ice Hole Campground is a good spot for that.
 
   This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Mccall Super 8 Lodge, and get dripping wet paddling on Johnson Creek. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Ditch Creek Trail.

               rainfall here at Marion Lake is about average; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. Take a little tour to Hanson Creek since you're here at Marion Lake; if you came to camp Golden Gate Campground is a magnificent place to do that. High temperatures at Marion Lake through the summer months are in the 70's. Summer night lows fall down to the 30's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Marion Lake tend to be in the 0's.
