Malony Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Salmon River Mountains. Get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Salmon River - South Fork, and Summit Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Boulder Summit is easily seen from Malony Lake; you can run the rapids of Payette River - North Fork. All year is a pleasant time in the Salmon River Mountains if you love

Lake is Kennally Creek Campground. On a brilliant day at Malony Lake you can take a hike along the Paddy Flat Lake Fork Trail, and camping at Lake Fork Campground is always a good experience. The Boulder Lake Trail is a fine hiking trail next to Malony Lake, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Mccall Super 8 Lodge.

 | The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand.
