    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Idaho you can check out Mable Lakes. So much amusing stuff next to Mable Lakes, completely inspiring. Ruffneck Peak can be distinguished from Mable Lakes; get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - Middle Fork. Mable Lakes is not the only spot nearby, Island Lake is a nearby lake, and close by you discover the Prospect Creek Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. From a rain point of view Mable Lakes is  
   a relatively typical place; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily January, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Sawtooth Range. Camping at Thatcher Creek Campground is always a glorious experience, and the Blue Bunch Trail is a delightful hiking trail nearby. If the weather is wonderful here at Mable Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Bear Valley Creek Trail,
 
               and if you've had enough of Mable Lakes, Ruffneck Lake is close by. This lake is located in the wonderful Sawtooth Range.
This site, the Sawtooth Range, has so much outdoors entertaining things. Through the summer months here at Mable Lakes, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Mable Lakes overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Marsh Creek, and Mable Lakes is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Lola Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground.

Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's....
