Sure, Standard Lakes is in close proximity; get yourself into a kayak and hit Priest River. Stay the night at Indian Creek Campground, and going for a hike on the Hanna Flast Nature Trail is always a glorious adventure. There is a glorious hiking trail near Lower Standard Lake called the White Mountain Trail, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a fine vista of The Wigwams from Lower Standard Lake. Upper Standard Lake is a great lake next to Lower Standard       Lake; soar down the rapids of Smith Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Schweitzer since you're here; after a long day outdoors Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a fine place to spend a night or two. From a rain point of view Lower Standard Lake is a quite normal place; December is the month that gets the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lower Standard Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Dirt Oven Campground is a magnificent spot for that; nearby you discover the Chipmunk Rapids National Recreation Trail which is a nice hiking trail. At Lower Standard Lake through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's.
